What is Dam It?

Work together as a little Beaver and Bear who desperately gather resources from the forest to build a dam to stop a great flood. Play to your strengths as the Beaver can gather things quickly whilst the Bear can carry more resources. Use workstations  to craft more advanced resources for the more demanding dams on each level.

"Dam It" is inspired by games like Unrailed! and Overcooked with their element of chaotic collaboration.

Scope:

Hello! I'm Louis, a solo developer from Scotland and this is my first game.

This project is early doors right now and is more of a proof of concept, but I have lots of ideas to improve the game with more content, features and interesting levels.

I plan to update the demo with a few bits of polish I didn't manage to fit in before the demo release, however my big focus is to have a multiplayer early access build on steam, early spring 2026.

Install instructions

Windows:

  • Download .zip file
  • Place in a folder on you desktop
  • Right click > Extract Here
  • Double click on the .exe file.
  • Chaotic dam building awaits.

!! - - - - - MAC USERS - - - - - !!

After downloading, your device will warn you that you are trying to open a potential virus. So there are a few extra steps if you want to play this game on MacOS.

  1. Try open the app and press the ' ? ' symbol in the top right, then click done.
  2. Press the link for 'Open Privacy & Security . . .'
  3. Scroll to the bottom and under the Security Section find ' Dam-It_Mac-OSX ' and click ' Open Anyway '
  4. Another Pop-up will appear and click open anyway.
  5. Enter your device account password and finally after this chaotic start you can now enjoy some chaotic dam building from now on.

Linux:

Right click > Properties > Permissions and tick "Allow this application to run as a program".
